Marshall, David : Biography
- 1928 – Born in Islay – Alberta, Canada
- 1947 – 49 – Studied at the Ontario College of Art (2 years).
- 1950 – 51 – Studied Drawing and painting at Vancouver School of Art. Studied Ceramics at UBC Summer Sessions with Edith Heath.
- 1953 – 54 – Studied Sculpture for 1 year at Heatherby School of Art in London, England. Traveled through Europe from Netherland to Italy.
- 1956 – Studied Sculpture with Archipenko at UBC.
- 1956 – Helped organize and was head of the exhibition committee for the first Northwest Institute of Sculpture Outdoor Exhibition in the campus of UBC.
- 1956 – Founding Member of the Northwest Institue for Sculpture.
- 1958 – Helped organize and was head of the exhibition committee for the first Northwest Institute of Sculpture Outdoor Exhibition at Burnaby Municipal Hall.
- 1961 – Vancouver Art Gallery invitation to a panel (together with Roy Kiyooka [moderator], Jack Harman, Frank Perry and George Norris) at Contemporary British Sculpture Show in early 1962.
- 1964 – 65 – Studied graphic arts with Robert Steele at UBC.
- 1968 – Vancouver Maritime Museum. Employment as Museum Display Technician II.
- 1971 – Founding member of Sculptor’? Society of British Columbia.
- 1973 – 90 – Sculptor Instructor, Capilano College, North Vancouver.
- 1989 – Juror for Sculpture of BC . Travelling exhibition by members of the Sculptors’ Society of BC (Catalogue).
- 2002 – Juror for the International Sculpture Symposium 2002, held in the Okanagan Thompson region, BC.
- 2006 – January 1, 2006, David passed away peacefully at Burnaby General Hospital after a month and a half battle with Lukemia.
